Programs Offered

This program is designed for students looking to learn and memorize the word of Allah. Focusing on Tajweed, recitation, and memorization of selected Surahs from the Quran, this program ensures students develop a deep connection with the Quran.

Daycare: Ages 15 months to under 3 years old.

Since it’s inception in 2016, our ICW daycare provides a nurturing and safe environment where our young Muslims can learn, grow, and thrive during these important early years. Our daycare program is designed to meet the unique needs of each child, promoting their development across various areas, including social, emotional, cognitive, and physical.

3rd – 4th Grades

Rooted in Islamic values and teachings, our Itqan Academy KG – 4th grades program will embrace a blended learning approach that combines the best of traditional and progressive methods. We will focus on fostering academic excellence, spiritual growth, and character development in a nurturing and inclusive environment.
We will continue to deliver the integration of Islamic principles with a rigorous academic curriculum to cultivate well-rounded individuals.

Our blended learning approach combines different teaching methodologies to enhance the learning experience.

In addition to our Islamic Studies, Quran and Arabic, students focus on the core curriculum – Literacy, mathematics, science and social studies as well as character development, life skills, and enrichment activities.

At Itqan Academy, we believe in the individualized instruction approach that recognizes and caters to the unique learning needs and abilities of each student. This individualized approach will ensure that each student receives the necessary support, guidance and challenge to reach their full potential. We believe that every student is different and that personalized learning is key to their academic and personal growth.

The Islamic Center of Wheaton Sunday School Program is a community-based educational initiative aimed at providing children with a comprehensive understanding of Islam, its values, and teachings. Our program seeks to create a nurturing and engaging environment where students can develop a strong foundation in Islamic knowledge, moral values, and character development. Through interactive Islamic Studies, Quran and Arabic lessons, activities, and discussions, we aim to inspire a love for Islam and encourage the application of its teachings in daily life.

Quran session: is focused on Quran recitation, memorization, and understanding, with Tajweed principles and proper pronunciation.

Islamic Studies: session is focused on an exploration of Islamic beliefs, practices, history, and important Islamic personalities.

Arabic session: is focused on developing students’ proficiency in reading and writing Arabic, including recognition of letters, pronunciation, and basic grammar.

Character Building: Our teachers plan activities, discussions, and role-playing exercises aimed at developing moral values, character traits, and empathy towards others. The ICW Sunday School Program runs throughout the academic year, with classes held on Sundays from 10 am to 2 pm.

The program is open to students of various age groups, ranging from pre-school to middle school, with age-appropriate curriculum and activities for each level.

Registration begins in July each year.

The ICW Evening School Program is an after-school educational initiative designed to provide comprehensive Islamic education to students outside of regular school hours. This program aims to deepen students’ understanding of Islam, nurture their spiritual growth, and promote the application of Islamic teachings in their daily lives. Through engaging lessons, activities, and discussions, we strive to create an enriching and empowering environment for students to strengthen their Islamic identity.

Arabic Language and Quranic Recitation: Instruction in Arabic grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation to enhance Quran recitation skills and understanding.

Islamic Studies: In-depth exploration of Islamic beliefs, principles, rituals, and moral teachings. Lessons on the life, character, and sayings of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) to inspire students to emulate his teachings.

Character Building: Our teachers plan activities, discussions, and role-playing exercises aimed at developing moral values, character traits, and empathy towards others.

The ICW Evening School Program operates on Mondays – Thursdays from 6 – 8 pm and spans for the entire academic year.

Registration begins in July of each year.

ICW Summer Camp is an exciting and enriching program designed to provide our community children and youth with a memorable summer experience filled with Islamic education, fun activities, and a sense of community.

Our camp combines traditional summer camp elements with an Islamic focus, fostering a deep connection to Islam while promoting personal growth and building lifelong friendships.

ICW Summer Camp Highlights

Our ICW Summer Camp offers engaging and age-appropriate Islamic education sessions that aim to deepen children’s understanding of Islam. Through interactive lessons, discussions, and activities, campers will learn about Islamic beliefs, values, stories from the Quran and Hadith, and the life and character of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).

Campers will have the opportunity to enhance their connection with the Quran through Quranic stories.

Our camp focuses on nurturing positive character traits and moral values inspired by Islamic teachings. Through team-building activities, leadership workshops, and interactive discussions, campers will develop qualities such as kindness, empathy, honesty, and responsibility, empowering them to become well-rounded individuals.

At ICW, we believe in the importance of physical activity and encourage campers to engage in various sports and recreational activities. Our camp provides opportunities for campers to stay active, build teamwork skills, and enjoy the outdoors while embodying Islamic values of fairness and sportsmanship.

ICW Campers will unleash their creativity through arts and crafts projects that highlight Islamic themes and cultural elements.

Our ICW Campers will have the opportunity to build lifelong friendships and create lasting memories and develop strong bonds with their peers, fostering a sense of belonging and unity within the Islamic community.

Our ICW Summer Camp is open to children and youth of ages 0-10. Registration begins in April of each year.

Our individualized instruction approach will encompass the following principles

Each student will be assessed to identify their strengths, areas for improvement, and learning preferences. Based on this assessment, personalized learning plans will be created to tailor instruction to their specific needs, interests, and pace of learning.

Teachers will employ various teaching strategies, learning materials, and assessments to cater to the diverse learning styles, abilities, and interests of students.

Students may be grouped flexibly based on their specific needs and learning objectives. They may work individually, in small groups, or in mixed-ability groups for collaborative learning activities, discussions, and projects.

Students will have the flexibility to choose learning paths and explore topics of interest within the curriculum.

Assessments will be designed to align with individual learning goals and provide meaningful feedback to students.

Technology tools and platforms will be incorporated to enhance individualized instruction.

Teachers will continuously monitor student progress and provide timely intervention and support as needed.

Out of the numerous religious centers in Wheaton, including more than 40 churches, there is only one Islamic institution The Islamic Center of Wheaton.
